About RoamAmerica
RoamAmerica is an exit guide for American Interstates: what is at each exit, where the rest areas are, and how far it is to the next gas station or fast charger.
Why we built it
Printed exit guides used to ride in every glovebox. Map apps replaced them, but they answer a different question: what is near me right now. On a long drive you also want to know what is ahead, on your side of the road, and whether you should stop here or can wait. That is what every page on this site is built around.
How it works
We take the Interstate routes, their numbered exits and the businesses near them from OpenStreetMap, then work out distances along the road from the mile-marker exit numbers. Pages are generated from that data and refreshed regularly. Exits with very little nearby still have a page, so that "next gas in 48 miles" is never wrong, but those pages are kept out of search results.
What it is not
We do not show live fuel prices, opening hours we cannot confirm, or road closures. Always follow road signs, and check a state's department of transportation for closures and construction.
