Las Vegas Strip guide: the Bellagio fountains, the Sphere, the High Roller, Fremont Street, free shows, day trips to Red Rock and Hoover Dam, and money-saving tips.
The Las Vegas Strip is 6.8 kilometers of Las Vegas Boulevard lined with some of the biggest hotels on the planet, each a themed world of its own. Watch the fountains of the Bellagio dance to music, then walk through its flower-filled conservatory, which changes with the seasons.
The Sphere, opened in 2023, is the largest spherical building in the world; its outside is covered in LEDs, and inside it shows immersive films and concerts. The High Roller observation wheel lifts you 167 meters above the Strip, and downtown the Fremont Street Experience hides old casinos under a huge video canopy. The Neon Museum preserves the city’s historic signs.
Vegas is also a gateway to the desert. Red Rock Canyon is just 30 minutes away, Hoover Dam about 45, and the Valley of Fire, with its flaming red rocks, about an hour.
